Margarite Sánchez is a Salt Spring Island-based artist, activist, and agriculturalist. An enthusiastic gardener as well as an accomplished artist, looks close to her own garden for inspiration. Drawn to the luscious richness of oil paint, her use of dynamic bold lines and vivid colours pays artistic homage to the Mexican muralists and grounds her work in that fertile artistic tradition.
