Handwoven basket in kiwi vine, reed, seagrass, waxed linen thread and basketry cane in shades of forest greens and browns and natural oatmeal. Basket measures approximately 28 cm long by 24 cm wide (11 by 9.5 inches) and 14 cm (5.5inches) high.

Donna Cochran’s passion for basketry evolved throughout her career of teaching and international development in West and East Africa, the Middle East and Latin America. She has studied with renowned basket makers from many cultures and learned a wide range of basketry techniques using traditional materials. Donna grows and/or harvests many of her materials herself, using ecological practises. She also employs contemporary materials and an imaginative range of upcycled and repurposed items.
